The mission of the Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department is: 304-842-8240
"To provide the residents of Bridgeport with a variety of quality recreational, educational and cultural programs to, in turn, help enhance the quality of life. It is a priority of our department to provide an open line of communication with the public that will foster quality recreational programs, safe and adequate facilities and healthy and active lifestyles for our citizens."
To that end we provide anything and everything necessary to keep your family recreating- walking trails for the whole family; basketball and tennis courts with lights for late-night play; an unequalled Recreational Complex featuring state of the art facilities and league-style play; our community swimming pool with family-friendly membership fees and child Sprayground; two beautiful lakes for fishing or boating; and so much more. We even have an Dog Park to keep Rover happy and active too!! Bring the whole family to one of our special summer events and enjoy movies under the stars at the park or while blissfully floating in the pool. Bring the kids to a sports camp to improve, Not enough? Have another idea? Then be sure to email us with your ideas or suggestions. Parks and Recreation isn’t just for summer anymore. Keep moving through the fall and winter with our variety of classes. We offer Pilates, Ballroom Dancing, Karate classes and much, much more at the Benedum Civic Center as well as basketball leagues throughout the fall/winter. Be sure to check out Recreation Central.
