    Maintenance II - Lift Station Technician

    Job Summary:

    The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance II Lift Station Technician position in the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The qualified applicant should have a high level of maintenance skills with a proven work ethic. This position will be responsible for various maintenance and operational issues and must possess the ability to provide direction to other employees as needed.

    The Technician’s primary job functions will consist of the following:

    • Daily operations of 39 sewage Lift Stations which involve inspection and maintenance of pumps and controls.
    • Assist with operations of 4 water booster stations.
    • Operate the City’s Combined Sewer Overflow Program which includes inspection, maintenance, and data monitoring for 10 CSOs, and in accordance with the CSO OMM Plan.
    • All duties require limited supervision under the Public Utilities Superintendent and under direct supervision of the LS Foreman.
    • Subject to extended work hours and on-call shifts.
    • Other duties as necessary.
    The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of pumps, motors, and controls, knowledge of SCADA and telemetry is preferred. Ability to work alone or on a crew. Class C WW License is preferred or the ability to obtain within 2 years.

    The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Equipment Operator position in the Public Works Department. This individual performs a variety of tasks involved in maintenance and repair of City streets, storm drainage systems, parkways, and rights-of-way.     Job Summary:

    The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time, year-round Head Groundskeeper position at The Bridge Sports Complex. This position will have responsibility and oversight of all field maintenance regarding natural grass and artificial turf as well as facility landscaping. The candidate will report to The Bridge Operations Manager. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining a first-class playing facility including all necessary field maintenance and campus landscapes. Duties included, but are not limited to, preparing the sports fields (baseball, soccer, lacrosse, football, etc.), turf maintenance, beautification of campus landscape, edging, snow removal and assisting in setting up equipment for events held at the facility.

    Qualifications:

    • Two (2) year of experience in turf maintenance with previous experience supervising a field crew a plus.
    • Knowledgeable in all aspects of turf maintenance.
    • Experience with baseball fields a plus.

    Job Summary:

    Under the Fitness Manager's general supervision, the Group Fitness Instructor leads and coordinates group adult fitness/physical training sessions for a specified health and fitness program.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Plans and leads exercise/activity sessions in one or more assigned fitness areas, such as low impact aerobics, stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weight training, and/or specialty training.
    2. Arrives before class time to prepare the exercise room and equipment before participants arrive.

    Under the aquatics manager’s supervision, the Swim Instructor will lead and coordinate swim lessons while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.

    1. Teach various level swim lessons by following the provided curriculum from the American Red Cross.
    2. Ability to adapt teaching to the age, experience, and skills of class participants.

    Concessions Supervisor (part-time)

    Job Summary:

    The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily concession operations. The Concessions Supervisor works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to monitor inventory, food preparation, and oversees the concessions staff. This part-time position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate concession stand to include operating concession equipment, preparing food, cleaning, and sanitizing service areas to regulated health standards, opening and closing cash drawer, and compiling daily financial reports.
    • Provides logistical support for events and programs to include equipment set up and the breakdown and monitoring of the facility during the event.
    • Serve as a lead worker at the assigned facility.
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including training, counseling, and enforcing work procedures and service standards.
    • Inspects and ensures all stands are clean and sanitized and all equipment is working properly.
    • Verifies stand inventories before and after each event, as assigned.
    • Verifies food preparation for timeliness and proper quantities.
    • Evaluates and documents performance of stand attendants.
    • Performs opening and closing procedures for designated area.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED and two years of foodservice experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Working knowledge of and experience in the operation of foodservice facilities.
    • Working knowledge of current sanitation standards and ability to adhere to these standards.
    • Must have a current Harrison County Food Handler’s Card.
    • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
    • Ability to operate a POS System.
    • Working knowledge of computers.
    • Strength and dexterity are necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
    • Availability to work a variable work schedule that may include early and late hours and weekends and holidays.
