Bridgeport Garden Club

Bridgeport Garden Club

The Bridgeport Garden Club was organized in 1974. We are a member of the National Council of State Garden Clubs Inc., South Atlantic Region, West Virginia State Garden Clubs Inc., Monongahela-Cheat District, and the Garden Council of Harrison County.

The purpose of this club shall be to stimulate interest in Gardening, Landscape Design, Civic and Home Planting and to Preserve and Conserve our Natural Resources.

Our club meets the third Tuesday of the month, 12 months of the year, at 9:30am, at various places, depending on the program planned for the month. We have workshops, speakers on local ongoing projects and assist where needed on these projects. Our continuing projects are: Circle Drive at Philadelphia and Johnson Ave.; Flower garden at Main and Second Streets; Garden Therapy at the United Hospital Transitional Care Center; Plant Wildflowers and Trees, and maintain Bird Feeders; and provide fresh flowers for the Veterans Hospital.
