Job Summary:

The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Staff Accountant position in the Finance Department. Job Summary:

The City of Bridgeport is in search of a Director of Emergency Services who will coordinate the activities of all organizations concerned with any or all phases of emergency services which may exist within the City of Bridgeport. This position maintains liaison and cooperates with the emergency service agencies and organizations within State Government, and with other West Virginia cities and counties.  Duties include but are not limited to the following: Make, amend, and rescind the necessary orders, rules, and regulations to carry out the provisions of Article 105 of City of Bridgeport Code within the limits of the authority conferred upon him or her, with due consideration of the plans of the State and Federal Governments; Prepare a comprehensive plan and program for emergency services for the city, which are to be integrated into and fully coordinated with the plans of the State Government and of the other cities and counties within the state; In accordance with such a plan and program for the city, to procure supplies and equipment, to institute training programs and public information programs, and to take all other preparatory steps including the partial or full mobilization of the organization in advance of actual disaster, to ensure the furnishing of adequately trained and equipped forces of emergency services personnel in time of need; Make such studies and surveys of the industries, resources, and facilities in the city as may be necessary to ascertain the capabilities of the city to provide for emergency services, and to plan for the most efficient emergency use thereof; On behalf of the city, to enter mutual aid arrangements with other cities and counties within the state, and, with the approval of the governor of the state, with emergency services agencies or organizations of other states, for reciprocal aid and assistance in case of disaster too great to be dealt with unassisted.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, or closely related field. Requires five (5) years in Emergency Management OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The candidate must have the ability to: Effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with executive level managers, senior government officials and the public via presentations, briefings and interviews to further public education and awareness; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials of law enforcement, firefighting and emergency medical care agencies, representatives from other local, State and Federal agencies, and the public; Exercise considerable judgment in applying and interpreting departmental policies and procedures; Work under stressful conditions and be responsive to emergency conditions on a 24-hour a day basis.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sports Performance Specialist will be responsible for the creation, implementation, and delivery of athlete focused training programs, both general and sport specific, at The Bridge. This will include large and small group classes, private and semi-private sessions, team training, as well as specialty camps and clinics. The Sports Performance Specialist must be able to work with the facility’s sports programs, fitness department, and other health professionals to ensure a collaborative and well-considered approach to athlete training. Other responsibilities include providing superb customer service to athletes, parents, and coaches, community outreach, facility and equipment upkeep, and other tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field with 2+ years’ experience working directly with athletes of varying abilities. Candidates must be certified through a nationally recognized body and must have current CPR and First Aid certificates. Additional supplemental certifications (USA-W, CES, FMS) are preferred. Candidates should have experience with the testing and tracking of athletic performance data. Familiarity with Catapult, ErgoTest, and VBT systems is encouraged.

Group Fitness Instructor

Job Summary:

Under the Fitness Manager's general supervision, the Group Fitness Instructor leads and coordinates group adult fitness/physical training sessions for a specified health and fitness program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plans and leads exercise/activity sessions in one or more assigned fitness areas, such as low impact aerobics, stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weight training, and/or specialty training.
  2. Arrives before class time to prepare the exercise room and equipment before participants arrive.

Personal trainers are responsible for providing safe and effective fitness programming in one-on-one and small group settings. Under the aquatics manager’s supervision, the Swim Instructor will lead and coordinate swim lessons while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.

Under the Aquatics Manager's supervision, the Lifeguard will ensure visitors' safety to our aquatic's facilities. Lifeguards will be responsible for explaining safety rules to guests, warning patrons about unsafe situations, and upholding the facilities' policies.

Concessions Supervisor (part-time)

Job Summary:

The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily concession operations. The Concessions Supervisor works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to monitor inventory, food preparation, and oversees the concessions staff. This part-time position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate concession stand to include operating concession equipment, preparing food, cleaning, and sanitizing service areas to regulated health standards, opening and closing cash drawer, and compiling daily financial reports.
  • Provides logistical support for events and programs to include equipment set up and the breakdown and monitoring of the facility during the event.
  • Serve as a lead worker at the assigned facility.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including training, counseling, and enforcing work procedures and service standards.
  • Inspects and ensures all stands are clean and sanitized and all equipment is working properly.
  • Verifies stand inventories before and after each event, as assigned.
  • Verifies food preparation for timeliness and proper quantities.
  • Evaluates and documents performance of stand attendants.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures for designated area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of foodservice experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in the operation of foodservice facilities.
  • Working knowledge of current sanitation standards and ability to adhere to these standards.
  • Must have a current Harrison County Food Handler’s Card.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Ability to operate a POS System.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Strength and dexterity are necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule that may include early and late hours and weekends and holidays.
