Junior Police Academy 2019

The Bridgeport Police Department is excited to announce the return of the Junior Police Academy for the summer of 2019.

This packet will provide you with the necessary forms needed to allow your child to participate in the Junior Police Academy that is being sponsored by the F.O.P. Mountaineer Lodge #78.  The student will have the following activities to be involved with: Physical Training, Team building activities, guest speakers, police training videos, K9 training, fingerprinting, a DUI simulator, DNR demonstration, Fatal Vision goggles and many others.  The Junior Police Academy is free of charge to 75 participants, 4th – 8th grades for the 2019-2020 school year, based on the application that is required.  The Academy will run one week, July 15 – 19 , from 8:00a.m – 4:00p.m. All participants must be picked up at that time.  Snacks and lunch will be provided daily.  The contacts for this event are Bridgeport PD PFC Jamie Hamrick or Sgt. Incomplete forms will NOT be considered, so double check the forms before submitting them. Be sure to put down phone numbers that someone can be reached at during the day. Forms can be returned by e-mail (jlhamrick853@gmail.com), or mailed, faxed (304-842-8267) or hand delivered to Bridgeport Police Dept. c/o PFC Jamie Hamrick, 515 W. Main St., Bridgeport, WV 26330.  Please return all forms no later than May 10, 2019. This will give the staff adequate time to make arrangements for the needed supplies for classes, games and meals.  The Junior Police Academy will be held at the Bridgeport Middle School.  Directions are available upon request.  Thank you for your interest and support of the Junior Police Academy.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

2.0 GPA – Please bring copy of last report card or LiveGrades printout.

Must not have any Out of School suspensions during the past school year.

Students of Harrison County schools get priority.  Out of county students are not guaranteed acceptance.
