Annual Events

The Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department offers year round Recreation Programs and Special Events at the Benedum Civic Center.

Some of the classes offered to the public include Karate, Little Explorers (child’s science class), exercise classes (varies) and Stamp Camp. Many other classes are offered at different times so be sure to check the Activity Guide published in the Winter, Spring/Summer and Fall.

Some of the Special Events offered by the Department include the annual pre-school Easter Egg Hunt, Hay Bales Fall Festival, and the Christmas Parade. Sporting Events held annually include Basketball Leagues (Middle & High School in the Fall and Kindergarten-3rd grade in the Winter) as well as Tennis Lessons and Clinics.  Again, other sports may be offered so be sure to check the Activity Guide.

The Bridgeport Pool, located adjacent to the Civic Center, is a public pool which offers swimming and pool programs to area residents. Season passes are available to both Bridgeport residents and non-residents. Along with swimming, the Bridgeport Pool offers Swimming Lessons, rentals for private pool parties, and Aqua Aerobics. The Parks and Recreation Department also sponsors the Bridgeport "Wildcatters" Swim Team at the Bridgeport Pool
