Economic Business Incentives

The City of Bridgeport seeks to assist in the retention and expansion of business enterprises to enhance the economic base of the City and enhance the quality of life for its citizens. Various incentive programs are available, including those below. New and existing business owners that meet certain requirements can take advantage of the Economic Development Grant, Business Sustainability Incentives, or Exterior Improvement Incentives. Projects are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must meet certain requirements. For more information, please contact Andrea Kerr. All grant applicants must fill out the Economic Development Grant / Incentive Program form in order to be considered for funding.

  • Exterior Improvement Incentive - This program is designed to enhance and revitalize older commercial areas throughout the City of Bridgeport. It stimulates private investment and customer patronage in the City's older commercial districts by focusing on revitalizing building facades visible to customers, neighboring merchants, and residents.
  • Economic Development Grant - This grant is designed to assist and encourage companies to invest and create new employment opportunities inside the corporate limits of Bridgeport, the extension of public utilities and other infrastructure, the elimination of dilapidated and obsolete structures, the beautification and expansion of recreational facilities within our community and the extent to which the development coincides with City development initiatives and efforts.
  • Business Sustainability Incentive - The City of Bridgeport recognizes sustainability as a key component of nurturing Bridgeport's long-term economic integrity.
