Bridgeport Public Library : NASA Space Weather

Bridgeport, WV – “NASA Space Weather” is a Bridgeport Public Library “Take Me To Your Reader” Summer Reading program for adults and teenagers over the age of thirteen. The program will be offered on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2:00pm. Registration is required and can be easily done by calling the library at 304-842-8248.

Books recommended to expand the “NASA Space Weather” program experience include: The Northern Lights: The True Story of the Man Who Unlocked the Secrets of the Aurora Borealis by Lucy Jago Solar Cataclysm: How the Sun Shaped the Past and What We Can Do to Save Our Future by Lawrence E. Joseph Fire of Life: The Smithsonian Book of the Sun Climate Changed: A Personal Journey Through the Science by Philippe Squarzoni If you have questions about this event, please contact Sarah at the library at 304-842-8248. About NASA Space Weather -- Participants will use a variety of solar telescopes to safely view sunspots, solar flares, and coronal mass ejections. Participants will also learn about NASA images available for download and correlations between space weather and atmospheric events on Earth.
