A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR: I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the City of Bridgeport's Website, Department of Public Works, Public Utilities, and Engineering. Collectively, our goal is to "Enhance the quality of life for our residential and business community by providing and maintaining quality infrastructure." One goal that supports our mission is to provide effective communication with our customers, the public. ![]() The website was created to inform, educate and assist our customers about infrastructure matters that concern the people we serve. Please take a moment to view our website. E-mail me with any ideas or suggestions to improve our communications or our department in general. The operating hours for our department is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, an employee is on call 24 hours daily, 7 days a week. In the event of an emergency, please contact the Harrison County Bureau of Emergency Services at (304) 623-6559 and report your emergency. An on-call City employee will contact you as soon as possible. Please do not call 911, as this line is dedicated for fire, police and medical emergencies. H.
