The City of Bridgeport operates a Combined Sewer System. This means that both sanitary sewage and storm water from wet weather events flow through our system. During heavy rains, Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO's) are designed to discharge the extra flow into receiving streams.
During wet weather events, you can contact the City to determine which CSO's are discharging. If you have any questions regarding Combined Storm Overflows, please contact Jared Cummons, Superintendent of Utilities, at (304) 842-8212.
