It is the inherent goal of the Bridgeport Police Department to maintain and safeguard public trust and confidence by our responsiveness to the community and community needs. Under the Authority of the Chief of Police, employee behavior is monitored and determine the corrective training in areas which employee behavior fails to meet department standards. Under the Office of the Chief of Police all complaints and/or reports of officer misconduct that tends to discredit an officer or the Police Department are investigated and coordinated.

The Office of the Chief of Police is also responsible for updating policies, developing new policies and keeping policies in conformity with the changing laws and statutes.

If you have a complaint

You can call: The on-duty Shift Commander at 304-842-8265. If you have trouble contacting the Shift Commander you can call the Harrison County Bureau of Emergency Services (911 Center) 24 hours a day at 304-623-6559. They will contact the Shift Commander for you.
