Bridgeport Police 2011 Urban Deer Hunt

The Bridgeport Police Department is always interested in high quality police applicants. We test approximately every 2 years, in accordance with West Virginia civil service law, and hire from that list of applicants until either we exhaust the list or it expires. We are currently hiring from a test given in 2009, and are not accepting applications at this time.

Interested applicants can contact Jimmy Smith, Director of Personnel at 304-842-8217 for information of application and testing dates.

Applicants undergo written and physical agility tests, medical and psychological screening, and thorough background investigation before being sent to the WV State Police Academy for 16 weeks of basic police training. This is followed by another 14 weeks of field training here at BPD. New hires have a one year probationary period.
